HEADMASTER'S NOTES
We are finishing up our seventh week of the school year, and the month of September is nearly finished. CA is continuing to grow with a number of new students enrolling over the last month. Our current enrollment continues to increase with 197 enrolled in our K-5 – 12th grade school. The teachers and staff are making every effort to provide our students with an exceptional education as we move closer to our fiftieth anniversary. Additionally, we are renovating classrooms by putting down new carpet in the third grade, fourth grade, and teachers' workroom.
Earlier this month we were able to host Mr. Ken Freeman for an inspirational choices message for our upper school students in grades 5-12. Additionally, our students have been very involved in a number of worthwhile programs and activities such as the AISA SGA Workshop, the SGA Life South Blood Drive, the eighth grade Career Discovery at SUSCC, hosting the Grandparents Day program, and sponsoring CA’s annual "See You at the Pole" national day of prayer.
Next week, we will host Mr. Matt Kelly with Equip Ministries on Wednesday, October 3rd. The program will fall during the middle of our Homecoming week. Matt will share a powerful message during a school assembly and then return that night to our FCA Olympics for our students and those from area schools. We will host a bonfire on Thursday before Homecoming, and hope you are able to make it out to campus to help share the CA spirit.
Our staff is always striving to make daily improvements in our classrooms to benefit our students. We will begin a staff professional development book study activity in October that will continue throughout the year. The staff will be reading Lessons from the Mouse by Dennis Snow. This month our teachers will travel to the AISA’s statewide professional development program in Montgomery on October 1st. We will continue to pour into the students to prepare for future successes.
Finally, the first nine weeks grading period will end on October 12th with report cards being issued on October 17th. Again, thanks for supporting the CA family to make our school the best it can be for your children! Let me know if I can ever be of assistance, and “Go Rebels!"
