Hello Everyone,
First grade has had a busy month during September. We learned about Johnny Appleseed. Did you know that his real name was John Chapman and he was a missionary? Mrs. Richardson read us a story about him. We watched a video about his life. Did you know he wore a pot on his head and traveled west helping farmers and planting apple seeds? We are reading and learning about different types of communities. Choosing our top AR reader in September is a tight race William and Ty H. are neck and neck. This has become quite the competition. I think it’s going to come down to the last day. We will update you soon. Several other students are very close and almost everyone has met their goal of six books. I love that they are all excited about reading. Thanks to the parents who ordered books this month because of you our class was able to receive 10 free books. Please help us collect Sunny Delight Labels. For every 20 labels we send in, we will receive 20 new books.
We are looking forward to October. We can’t wait to see the play, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch later in October has us all excited. After the Pumpkin Patch, we will come back to school for the black light pep rally, and then we are off for our fall break holiday.
