The K-5 class was invited by Dr. Mehaffey to share a Thanksgiving lunch in his office on November 3rd. The students entertained Dr. Mehaffey with many interesting tales. They used their best manners. Mrs. Debbie Harmon made a guest appearance on December 7th to read books about Thanksgiving, teach math lessons with candy corn, and make a poster with the students that show what they are thankful for. Also during the month, the students made spirit plates to shake and show our support for our football team. They also made a spirit poster for the football players to take to the State Playoffs. On November 11th the students participated in the Veterans’ Day Program by performing the Pledge of Allegiance and singing patriotic songs. Amid all these activities, we also learned more about reading and math, patterns, how leaves change colors, baby animals and their mothers, as well has a host of other things. We are still practicing how to share and be a friend and taking on more responsibility. Lastly, the students made Santa handprint pictures with a lot of help from Mrs. Mindee Allen to sell during the CA Country Fair.
