Wow!! I can’t believe the first semester is already coming to an end! These past few weeks have been busy weeks for all of our students. We have started basketball season, had the All-star football game, and are beginning to prepare for finals next week. Our elementary is also preparing for a Christmas Production that they will perform next Thursday, December 15th, for the public.

We recently had a representative from the University of West Alabama on campus to speak to our juniors and seniors about possibilities they would have at UWA. A representative from Auburn University and Troy will be visiting in January. Our Juniors should be well prepared, after our class this semester, to tackle the ACT with confidence. While they have learned a lot from this class, I think they will agree with me when I say that they are all ready to move on to next semester.  We will then shift our focus to careers and job shadowing! Our Seniors have successfully learned about taxes, can now fill out their own W4’s, and are able to recognize numbers on a W2. Next semester, they will work on FAFSA’s and learn more about their Myers-Briggs personalities. If your senior has not been accepted to any college or university yet, you should really encourage them to apply!

There is an ACT date this Saturday that many students are taking advantage of. The next date to sign up will be February 11th. The deadline to register for this date will be January 13th. Any student can register by going to the ACT website and creating an account or logging in. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything student related!!
