2016 Science Fair Winners
Thanks to all of you for getting your child’s project here in a timely manner. For me, at least, it was one of the smoothest check-ins I’ve had. I loved your projects, and the pride and enthusiasm I saw, especially in the elementary grades. This was a great way to finish up my last science […]
Thanks to all of you for getting your child’s project here in a timely manner. For me, at least, it was one of the smoothest check-ins I’ve had. I loved your projects, and the pride and enthusiasm I saw, especially in the elementary grades. This was a great way to finish up my last science fair.
Sadly, the judges can only choose 3 projects from each category to continue 0n to district next week, but you did make it hard for them. The deciding factor came down to how well you answered the questions presented during the interview portion. The judges also tried to give feedback to the junior & senior levels for making the projects better in the future; I hope you take this as constructive criticism and not a personal critique.
I know many of you parents and students HATE science fair, but let me defend it one last time. Our job is to prepare you for college and the job market. Interviews and presentations are a fact of life in the grown-up world. The more practice you have, the better you can handle them.
In college, every science class comes with a lab, and except for the tri-fold, each week IS a “science fair project” write up. Many classes also have required presentations with posters/boards. Because of the dreaded and hated science fair, Chambers Academy students are ready, unlike many of their contemporaries. Saying this, I do hope you will continue to support this learning experience.
