Hannah Slay of Five Points, a senior at Chambers Academy, served as the Girls State delegate from the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 141. This year’s event was held at the University of Alabama. While there, Hannah ran for Commissioner of Agriculture. Though her bid was unsuccessful, she laughed and said “But everyone there knew me as the 7 th generation farmer and wanted one of the peanut pins provided by the National Peanut Board for my campaign”.
