When searching for fun and excitement, the last place most people would look would be in the school dumpster. However, that’s exactly where the Chambers Academy Kindergarten and First Grade students found one of the happiest days of physical education this school year. Students used cardboard boxes and headed to the hill alongside Rebel Stadium. A true match made in heaven that brought back memories of childhood of other teachers who couldn’t resist watching the excitement as they watched from the fence. “I just had to come out and see what all the excitement was about,” said Mrs. Hyde, first grade teacher. Hyde recalled her childhood memories of sliding down straw covered hills on pieces of cardboard. “Those are some of my fondest memories of growing up,” she added. Eighth grade student, Lizzie explained the excitement of Wrangler who ran up the hill dragging a box shouting, “Watch me this time, Coach.” “It was almost as fun watching them as it was for me when my sister and I tumbled down the hills of my grandmother’s house. Fun can be made out of the simplest things,” Lizzie added.
