What an adventure this year has been!  I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have learned more than I could ever imagine. I know that there are multitudes more to learn, and I look forward to that next year as we all continue to learn and grow together.

For the month of April we learned a lot about community service. I took a group of 10 th -12th graders to distribute and read books at the LaFayette and Plainview Headstart. Now that was an adventure. I also took around 25 students to the Special Needs Rodeo where we face painted, worked the games, the petting zoo, and helped to distribute lunch to around 1000 people. I think that we were all very humbled and blessed by this trip.

I would like to congratulate our Val & Sal from the class of 2016: Breanna Hand and Dalton Harmon. I would also like to mention Dalton Harmon and Ben Wilkerson who were honored at the Southern Union outstanding student banquet in April. Congratulations to Hannah Slay as our Girls State representative.

A reminder to juniors and their parents that the year ahead will be wild, crazy, and fast.  You need to use this summer to get information together, visit colleges, start looking at scholarships, senior pictures, etc….  I hope that everyone has a wonderful summer.
