The eighth grade class just finished a chapter on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing algebraic fractions.  They did not like this chapter  because they were not able to use their calculators.  The chapter they are on now is solving one step equations.  This is an important chapter because they will use the things they are learning now to solve more difficult equations later in the year.
