Well things have not slowed down yet. We have had West Alabama, JSU, and Troy come to visit us this month. With each of these schools we learn interesting and new information. Did you know that West Alabama was once Livingston and that JSU is the friendliest campus in the nation? Well, we do. The seniors, Mrs. Jane, and I had a wonderful trip to Southern Union to see the drama performance, “An Ideal Husband”. We got to see two of our alumni in this performance, eat lunch at Southern Union, and see the Wadley campus. The seniors were well behaved. What a great day!
Most of the seniors have taken the ACT. We are anxiously awaiting scores. It is now time to move on to applying to the colleges we are interested in and working on scholarships. Along the lines of scholarships and applications: I would like to encourage parents and students to be working on a resume of accomplishments 9-12 th grade (for example: Class offices held, awards, leadership qualities, clubs, organizations, etc…). I would also like to see all the juniors taking the ACT in winter or spring of 2015. The next ACT date is December 13 th , but you have to be registered by November 7 th or late registration by the 21 st . I have also helped several of our students sign up for the ACT. It is quite an adventure. If you would like we can do this at school, just let me know. If any parents of seniors or juniors have any questions about the ACT, colleges, scholarships, etc… please contact me and if I don’t have the answers you need, then we will find them.
