A study in projectile motion of either an arrow or a hot piece of lead may be the next order in science enrichment!  Our gardens were looking gorgeous until the deer and possibly rabbits found them.
In an informal science fair experiment, we have discovered that when given a choice, varmits prefer broccoli and cauliflower to other winter veggies.  The next night, their second choice was cabbage, and this weekend, the collards.  Apparently they don’t care for mustard greens or radishes, at least not yet. Lettuce is still too small to tempt them, but I bet it’s on their future menu.
If anyone has any less violent control methods they would like to try, please be our guests.  Once we have the critters under control, we’ll replant.
