SPANISH
November went by so quickly, and I cannot believe it is already December! My Spanish classes have been very busy as always. My Spanish 1 students have been learning how to use adjectives to describe themselves and others physically and in terms of personality and nationality. Next week we will also briefly study how Christmas is celebrated in Mexico. My Exploratory Spanish students have been helping me teach numbers 1-10 in Spanish to students in K-5 through 3rd grade and we are now talking to them about Christmas celebrations in Mexico. These students are also beginning work in class to construct a traditional star piñata from papier mache. My Spanish 2 students have been working on a Food Unit and last month they created simple recipes in Spanish after reading a recipe for traditional Mexican bread. Last week we began discussing foods from Spain and how they are different from foods in Mexico. This week they have started working in groups to create a menu in Spanish for a Spanish food restaurant that they have created.
