LIFE IN FIRST GRADE
First grade has had a busy month during
November. We helped old Tom Turkey make it past Thanksgiving with our clever
disguises. We presented a Veterans Day program on November 12th. We hope you had the opportunity to attend. We
are grateful for all the Veterans who have served to protect our country. We completed our Second reading unit on Friday. What a great way to end the
month! We learned a lot about communities. We learned about communities at
school, in our town, communities from the past, and in nature. Did you know
that bees have a community in their hives? Mrs. Hendrix is a beekeeper, and she
visited the kindergarten and first grade to tell us about bees. We learned a lot!
We are looking forward to December. We will be going to the Springer to see the play Elf on December 12th. Remember we have to leave early due to the time difference. The bus will leave at 7:10. We will be going to the Merry-Go-Round in Valley on December 17th. Soon we will be on Christmas break. This year has really flown by!
Thanks for all you do to make sure your student is successful. They truly are a blessing to teach.
