Counselor's Corner
Is anyone besides myself confused as to how this year is already coming to a close? I cannot believe we are talking about graduation one month from now! It is a busy time of the year for everyone around CA and I am continually busy trying to help everyone stay on track. A few notes to be made for the upcoming month:
-7th – 12th grades: Please remember that in addition to having an “A” both 3rd and 4th quarter, you must have missed a class no more than 10 times in order to be exempt from the Final Exam.
-With Field Trips coming up, all students need to be accountable for staying on top of their missed work.
-I am having my final round of Senior Meetings with each senior student to ensure they have completed everything they need in order to graduate, and that we are all on the same track for graduation. Their finals will finish on May 24th, and we will have two practices that are mandatory for them for graduation. Also to be noted: The Baccalaureate Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Lafayette, again this year. It will Sunday, May 22, at 6:00 P.M.
-I am very excited to get to take a mixture of students from my 7th period “Film History” class to Atlanta on Tuesday, April 24, for a walking tour of Atlanta to see sites where movies have been filmed. This should be both an educational, as well as cultural experience for some.
I hope everyone has had a great Spring and look forward to finishing the year strong!
