In November we have been busy learning about everything fall. We have learned about the parts of a plant and the life cycle of plants. We have read stories about how animals prepare for winter. We read books about the first Thanksgiving and even watched a movie about the first settlers. On November 10th the students participated in the Veterans’ Day Program by performing the Pledge of Allegiance and singing patriotic songs. Amid all these activities we also learned more about reading and math, patterns, how leaves change colors, baby animals and their mothers, as well has a host of other things. Dr. Mahaffey drove us to Auburn University to have our picture made for the CA calendar. We will be in the picture for December. Afterward, we enjoyed lemonade from Toomer’s Corner. It was a fun trip. We are still practicing how to share, be a friend, and taking on more responsibility. Lastly, Mrs. Laura Landrum helped the children make cotton ball Santa faces, Christmas trees decorated with festive stickers, and cute little Santa figures. We finished off the month by writing our Santa letters and emailing Santa.
