Spanish 1 is moving right along. In the language we are learning, our students are challenged with learning five different verb forms for the present tense, depending on the subject of the sentence. In other words, a different verb form would be used each time when saying, I run, You run, He runs, We run, They run. The students are doing just fine with this, but it is important that they practice when they can, so if you find yourself in a situation where your child may get to speak Spanish with a native speaker, put them on the spot! When we finish the unit covering present-tense verbs, we will begin a cultural study about food in all parts of the Spanish speaking world through research, food preparation, and taste-testing.
