Our Spanish 1 class is moving quickly, and learning more and more each day. I have been very pleased with them. The class is smaller than the one last year, and I look forward to working with this very bright group of kids in building a foundation for the development a true proficiency of a  second language. Ask them what they know in Spanish. Ask them about the alphabet, commands, and how they are able to describe people by their appearance.

Our Spanish 2 class jumped right back into Spanish after a brief recap of last year. We are working on what is known as the preterit . It is one of two past tenses that belong to the language. We will soon move into the other past tense, known as the imperfect , and will spend a few weeks learning when to use each of those respective past tenses appropriately. It is a challenging way for these students to begin the year, so keep up with them and make sure they are understanding these concepts.
