This past month has been full of activities. We have talked about continental drift and plate tectonics this month in science. We have done several hands-on activities to help the students understand the science objectives revolving around plate tectonics and continental drift. Also this month, the students played jeopardy games to help them study for tests they have had these past few weeks. The winner of these games got candy for winning. We just finished having our book fair last week, and many of the students were able to purchase great books to read throughout the rest of the school year. We are getting ready for field day this Friday. The sixth grade students will be going against the fifth grade class in an egg toss, 100 yard dash, tug of war, piggy back race, jump the brook, and the 3 leg race relay. All of the students are excited about this day and school will only be for a half day! We are also getting ready for the AR trip. The students that get to go on the AR trip for fourth through sixth grade have met their goal of reading two AR books a month and passing their AR tests on the books they have read. The sixth grade students that get to go on this trip are Bailey, Claire, Lauren, Natalie, John, and Mattie. CONGRATULATIONS to these students!! We are also getting ready for the sixth grade graduation on May 19. We are all excited about what the sixth graders have accomplished throughout this year. CONGRATULATIONS to the sixth grade graduating class of 2016!!
