We are proud to announce that our first sport education season has begun in 7th and  8th grade physical education. The students have been divided in order to compete in a fun team sport called flickerball. The game is a combination of football and basketball. The game is played on a basketball court with a football. The object of the game is to score more points than the opposing team. The way to score is by advancing the ball down court using passes only. The player with the ball is not allowed to move. After three passes are made, the offense can attempt a shot at the basketball goal. If the ball hits the backboard, the team is awarded one point. Two points can be earned if the ball touches the rim of the goal.  Three points are awarded if the ball makes it through the hoop. It is a very fun game that allows students to practice vital skills such as passing, catching, and movement without the ball. There will be a championship team named after the conclusion of our season.
