September has been a very busy month for our 6th graders.  Here’s a brief recap of the month:

  • Grandparents Day was a huge success.  I would like to thank all of the grandparents, parents, family and friends who came  and spent the day with us.  We all thoroughly enjoyed the day.
  • The Snake Show was a wonderful experience that was enjoyed by all.  Now several of our 6th graders know what it’s like to hold a live alligator!
  • We had our first 4-H meeting of the year with Miss Rachel and the students elected officers. Our 4-H officers for the 2015 – 2016 year are
    • Hunter – President
    • Lindsey – Vice President
    • Mattie – Secretary
  • The students loved Mr. Randall Hamer’s character education class.  Mr. Hamer did an amazing job keeping the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students involved and engaged in the lesson.  We are looking forward to his next visit  in October!
  • We implemented KICKBACK in our 6th grade classroom this month.  Ask any 6th grader what KICKBACK is. They will be more than happy to enlighten you.  While you’re asking, also ask them about Sparkle.
  • Congratulations to our 6th grade Homecoming representatives! We have no doubt that Wyatt and Claire will represent their class and their school with the utmost pride and respect.
  • Congratulations, Claire, for being our top AR reader of the month!
  • In Science, we are exploring the different biomes of the world.  The students are currently creating and designing Power Point presentations to present to the class. I am super excited about this project and can’t wait to see the end products! This is a group project and all of the students are doing an amazing job working together.  I couldn’t be more proud of this group of students.
