I am so excited about what is going on down in the Kindergarten room. The past month or two, we have been learning about where we live, the world around us, the people we meet, and the importance of learning from other cultures. This week, Cate, Wrangler, Titus, Hannah, Colton, Baylee, Gracie, Makala, Beth, Anna Kate, Taysia, James, Sawyer, and Hunter are all doing a little research about a specific country they were assigned. The students have to complete a travel brochure about their country and present it to the class. The students were given specific things to research.  They had to figure out about their country’s capital, flag, music, food, clothes, and sports, but the main thing they had to learn was how to say “hello” in the native tongue of their country. By the end of the week and presentations, students will have been exposed to at least fourteen different ways to say “hello”. On that following Friday, the students will bring a food from their country, and as a whole we will enjoy a meal of the world. The kids and parents seem very excited about this project. It has been going on for two weeks now, so I look forward to seeing how everything turns out. If you get the chance, you should come down to our end of the hallway and check out the “hello heard around the world” bulletin board that should be completed by the first week of March. I am so proud of my kids and all the things they have been able to retain throughout this year!
