The school year is flying by, and it has been one crazy ride. It is time NOW for our seniors to be filling out college applications, scholarship applications, and the FASFA application. We can not wait any longer on these items. If any parents or seniors have any questions or would like some help, please feel free to call or come by and see me. It is also time for the juniors to be signing up and taking the ACT, and thinking about their future. Again, if there is any way that I can help, please let me know. If any seniors or juniors are interested in visiting specific college campuses then let’s get a trip set up! As a parent of a 9 th or 10 th grader, you need to be taking notice of all that is to come. The most important thing for them at this time is that they know the grades they are making now will follow them through their high school years. A cumulative GPA consist of all 9 th -12 th grades averaged together. When they get in 11 th and 12 th it is very hard to pull up a bad GPA from those years.
A look ahead on the calendar: A representative from University of South Alabama will be here on February 9, to speak with the seniors and juniors. I will be taking the 8 th graders to a Career Expo at Auburn University on the 17 th of February, maybe we can open some of their eyes to what the future can hold. The juniors will be traveling to Southern Union on February 26 th for the Spring Drama Performance. On February 27 th , we will be attending E-day (Engineering day) at AU for those interested in a future in engineering.
