James, Scarlett, Hunter, Sawyer, Gracie, Baylee, Taysia, Anna Kate, Makala, Beth, Colton, Hannah, Wrangler, Cate, and Titus are all doing so great in Kindergarten. They have learned over 90 percent of the alphabet (letters & sounds), and have already mastered half of the pre-primer sight word list. It may not seem like much, but the students are beginning to read sentences and are able to identify words in books. It is so exciting to see how their little minds work. Along with reading, the K-5 crew is learning about the four seasons (in Alabama we have 6: Spring, summer, fall, winter, Football, and Hunting), but we are sticking to the basics when it comes to the different times of year. The students have been working diligently on a seasons’ project and it will be done soon. If you get a chance, please come down to our neck of the woods and check out their seasons’ dodecahedron: You will be impressed! Also, in the coming weeks, Kindergarten will begin to learn how to tell time…. I am giving everyone fair warning… You will be told when you are late, on time, about to be late, and when it is time to go…I apologize in advance. There is so much going on in K-5 and I am excited to see what great things these little ones have in store!
