We’re quickly expanding our technology allowing not only more faculty and students online at school, but also giving us better opportunities to communicate and collaborate as a school family.

Last year, we provided wireless access to every classroom from K-5 to the 12th grade. This year (and likely very soon) we have plans to expand that access to our Pre-K rooms and to most of the gym. Our 9th through 12th graders are allowed to bring their own tablets and laptops for use in the classroom.

We were also able to replace our outdated desktop computers in the computer lab last year, and over the summer, we replaced outdated staff computers.

Our new student information system, RenWeb, is now giving us opportunities to keep parents informed like we’ve never been able to before. For instance, not only can it do a better job of keeping up with lunch accounts, but it can also share information like lunch balance and items bought in the lunchroom with parents in real time.

We’re proud to boast projectors that are used daily for supplemental learning in nine of our ten upper school classrooms and not only projectors but also interactive SmartBoards in six of our seven elementary classrooms.

Last year, I talked about getting a cart of laptops for a “mobile lab” from the state. We haven’t forgotten about that or stopped working toward that goal. It is  taking much longer to be approved for that opportunity than we had anticipated.

We appreciate any feedback on our new technologies.

One more project on the horizon is to set up with RenWeb the ability for parents to add money to their students’ lunch accounts directly online through ParentsWeb.
