High School Scholars Bowl finished their 2013-2014 season with a trip to the state finals in Legacy Environmental Educators’ Envirobowl, held on March 14 at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham. The team qualified with a 3rd place finish at Jacksonville State in January and is the first of our science teams to have made it to state. Envirobowl is a science-based competition that along with core science concepts, stresses the biodiversity of our state and its abundant natural resources. Senior Captain Zac, headed to Auburn this fall to major in Natural Resources Management, was also recognized with a $1000 scholarship from the organization. This year’s Envirobowl team members were: Austin —Co-Captain (also accepted to Auburn in Civil Engineering), Sarah, Anslee, and Hannah. Players-in-waiting who traveled this year to prep for the competition were Alaina, Kevin, and Kristina.
