Wow! What a busy month at Chambers Academy!  Homecoming, Country Fair, Fall Break, Miss Panacea, Halloween, Pumpkin Patch Just to name a few!  One highlight for K-4 was our unit on Community Helpers and Safety.  We had many visitors.  Mr. David Howard, owner and operator of  Howard Homebuilders, came to tell us about construction workers. The children enjoyed hearing different aspects of his job but they REALLY enjoyed getting to explore in his tool box! LaFayette Fire and Police Department both visited with an ambulance and undercover police car! The children were allowed to climb in and explore the ambulance and ask questions to learn more about how these people help us in our day to day lives. Finally, we were visited by Life Flight! Life Flight landed a helicopter here on our Rebel field! I waited until it was landing to tell my children and the looks on their faces were priceless! I was able to capture Ryanna Thorn’s reaction (seen below) and I will treasure it always! Students were invited to explore the helicopter as well, however, our time was cut short due to an emergency! The children got to see first hand these selfless people jump to action! What a treat! The children and  I would like to thank Derek Lamb, Konnor’s Dad and my wonderful husband, for arranging some of our visitors for the week! I would also like to take a moment to thank Miss Chelsey Burdette, Jana Cate’s mom,  for volunteering her time to come in and help with some activities for Halloween. The children really enjoyed having her here and continue to ask when she will be coming back. It was such a treat! K-4 activities will not be slowing down anytime soon! Some upcoming events will have us singing, dancing, learning, and sharing it all with you!! Thank you to all of my parents for allowing me to love on and teach your little ones and for all you do the whole year through!
