Talley, Cameron, Kayla, Halle, Beth, Keila, Kent, Spencer, Hunter, Emily, and Drew are learning about directions! They already know how to follow the directions I give them in class but do they know how to follow a map? Well, after this week they will! We are going to be learning about the cardinal directions, north, south, east, and west. Throughout the week the K-5 crew will learn how to read maps, use a compass, draw maps, and learn their addresses. The one lesson I hope to teach the students is the ability to find their way home if they ever get lost. The world is a big place and it will come in handy if they know how to use these skills to navigate around it. We might lose our minds every once in a while but we should never lose our way ;-).
