Congratulations to our high school Scholars Bowl Team for their second place finish in the District competition yesterday.  Our CA team finished the day with a 3-4 record with victories over Lee Scott, Edgewood, and Lyman Ward.  Our players yesterday were:  Erin, Savannah, Zac, and Austin.  Great job, Scholars!!!

Our Open House is upon us.  Our school will be open to prospective families Thursday afternoon from 4:30-6:30.  You are encouraged to come and join us and make any visitors welcome.  It is not too late to invite prospective families.  We will be happy to entertain them.

One more “hats off” to Britne’ who competed in the AISA All-Star basketball game last Friday.  As always, Britne’ represented us well.  Unofficially, Britne’ scored 6 points, recorded 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and generally played her usual unselfish game.  Great job!!

Congratulations are in order for the Chambers Academy cheerleaders of 2013-2014 who were selected last Friday.  Varsity cheerleaders are:  Heather, Jordan, Katlyn, Bre’Anna, Lindsey, Baleigh, Deven, and Cheyenne.  Junior varsity cheerleaders for the new year are:  Allie, Jessica, Jessica, Melissa, Lindsey, and Shelby.  As usual, we remind our cheerleaders that they are possibly the most visible, and therefore the most important ambassadors for our school.  I am certain these young ladies will always represent us well.

Don’t forget the Booster Club chicken BBQ to be held Saturday, 3/9/13.  Tickets are available in the school office and from Booster Club officers.  Plates will be served from 10:00-1:00.

It is not often that students get the opportunity to “whip, embarrass, and humiliate” their parents and other alumni.  Such an opportunity comes our way Saturday, March 2, at the CA gym.  The “old timers” have foolishly challenged our CA boys and girls basketball teams to a game.  Woe be unto them!  The slaughter will begin at 5:00 with our girls team taking on former CA greats.  The massacre continues around 6:15 as our boys take on the “old Men.”  Better have the medics ready!

These games should be great fun.  Come join us for good wholesome family fun.
