Congratulations to “Miss Jane” and her CA Drama Club. The group participated in regional drama competition at Glenwood on Wednesday. Of the four competition categories, CA finished with one first and two seconds. All members of the cast will compete in Montgomery next Friday, 1/25/13, in the state competition. Competitors and categories were as follows: Solo-Autumn-2nd place; Duet-Savanah and Skye; Ensemble-Skye, Autumn, Jordan, Britne’, Savannah, and Erin-2nd place; Musical- Autumn and Skye-1st place. Great job ladies!!!
Each year at this time we put together teams to compete in “Scale Back Alabama.” This is a state wide program sponsored by Alabama doctors and hospitals to promote weigh loss and healthy living. Individuals and schools (with five or more teams) are eligible for cash and other prizes at the end of the ten week program. This is a fun and competitive way to lose weight. I should know because I have lost the same ten pounds three years in a row!
Basketball season is winding down with only four regular season games remaining. The final home game for the Rebels will be Thursday, 1/24/13, when we host area foe, Cornerstone. This is also Senior night, so please come out as we honor our two basketball seniors Aly and Britne’. Also recognized will be senior cheerleaders Aly, Autumn, Haley, and Jordan. Regional tournament play will begin 1/31/13 at Ashford. We will advise of game times when the tournament is drawn.
Remember that Monday, 1/21/13, is a “weather day” and since we have not missed any time thus far, Monday will be a school holiday.
Parents are again urged to catch up any late tuition payments and lunch charges. We are expected to pay our bills on a timely basis and we can only do so if you pay tuition, fees, and lunch charges on a timely basis.
